| Dear World Travelers:
The United Arab Emirates is a constitutional federation of seven emirates Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Um Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah and we will be visiting six of the seven. Spurred on by the discovery of oil in the late 1950’s, a visionary program of development has seen the country transformed from a collection of scattered communities into a modern and stable state with a first-world infrastructure and a very low crime rate. The economy, once dependent on oil revenues, is now diverse. Trade and manufacturing contribute significantly, while the tourism industry is now accepted as an emerging global force.
The UAE covers an area of 51,500 square miles on the south-east tip of the Arabian Peninsula. Four-fifths of the UAE is desert. In the north, the 200 million-year-old Hajar Mountains offer a compelling sight. The rich fertile plains of the East Coast feature quaint oasis towns. The warmth of the local culture is reflected in the traditional Arabian approach to hospitality and the acceptance of other faiths and practices.
On this beautifully organized tour, we will provide you with an excellent introduction to the Emirates. From Dubai, we will see a delightful mix of modern, ancient, and natural sites. Please enjoy our brochure and we hope you will join us on this fascinating journey.
